Lenten Worship Opportunities
Join us for Wednesday Night Dinner, 5:45 – 6:30 pm.  See article elsewhere in bulletin for details.
• Wednesday Worship: Walking the Labyrinth through March 17 in the chapel (open from 5:30 – 7:30 pm).  Labyrinth walking is an ancient practice of journeying to and then returning from the center. It is a time of prayer, contemplation, and meditation.  It may look simple, but the experience can be profound.  There will be music and prayers available to help you on your journey.
• Wednesday, March 24: Healing Service led by Rev. Lois Annich, 7:00 pm, Chapel. The service will offer scriptures, meditation, music, and prayers for the healing of body, mind, and spirit. Hear Jesus’ invitation, spoken in love to you, “Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
• Plymouth Facebook Devotional: Please “become a fan” of the Plymouth Church   Facebook page.  Every day during Lent, there will be a new devotional, written by one of the ministerial staff at Plymouth.  You’ll have the opportunity to pray, reflect and even respond if you wish.  Weekly devotionals will be available (in the literature rack) on Sunday in written form for the coming week.  Watch for updates and join us on-line for a time of prayer and reflection.  (See Plymouth Home Page for link to Facebook)

Educational Opportunities for Adults: 9:30 am, room 102
• March 21: “A Strange Freedom – Howard Thurman, Mystical Activism and a Just Society.”  Joy Bostic, Ph.D., introduces prophet, mystic, poet and theologian, Howard Thurman.  Thurman has been Dean of chapels at Howard and Boston Universities and one of the inaugural co-pastors of San Francisco’s Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples.  He mentored civil rights activists such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and was an early architect and proponent of non-violent strategies for social change. We will explore Thurman’s mystical life, his understanding of Christian commitment and his vision of a just society.
• March 28: Media Today.  It’s a busy day and you like to keep up.  You catch the “breaking news” on TV and cable, hear it on the radio, read it in the newspaper and online.  Do you know how the media got the news?  How do you separate the “facts”?  Carrie Buchanan, Ph.D. of John Carroll University’s Communication department and Eric Wellman, regional host of NPR’s Morning Edition on WCPN 90.3, will give us the scoop.

• NEW GROUP FORMING: CONTEMPLATIVE CHRISTIANITY, March 23, 7:30 pm, Room 102.  Open to all those interested in exploring Christian spirituality based around direct experience. Come to learn more and help kickstart the group. Contact Chris Grostic (grostic@gmail.com) with any questions or scheduling conflicts.
